IT'S TIME TO GET SCHEDULED FOR 2010 TARPON SEASON

Get your name on my calendar for the 2010 tarpon season.  The season can run from mid-April through June and well into the month of July.  Don't miss the opportunity to hook into a big Silver King (tarpon) on fly.  Keep in mind, you don't have to be an expert fly caster just to catch a tarpon --- you don't have to cast 80 to 90 feet to put the fly in front of the tarpon --- you don't even have to have cast an 11 weight or 12 weight rod before.  With my excellent equipment, along with my expert instruction, I can guide you through the casting, the hooking and fighting techniques.  You, too, can catch a tarpon on fly!  Click on "Tarpon" in the menu below and get the full picture.

KEY WEST - FLORIDA KEYS

JULY, AUGUST, SEPTEMBER, 2010

I am already booking the 2010 season and would like to see YOU hooked up to permit, bonefish and tarpon.

If you can't fit a trip to Southwest Florida into your schedule, I offer some exciting fly fishing in Key West you might be interested in.  There, my anglers find challenging fly fishing for permit, bonefish and tarpon.  Around July 1st, I leave the west coast of Florida, pack up my gear and head to Key West for 3 months (July to October). Believe it or not, Key West is not that hot in the summer - it's several degrees cooler than Sanibel/Captiva, lighter winds and there just aren't  many anglers impacting the flats.  There are days when I'm fishing the Marquesas Islands (west of Key West) when I don't even see another boat.  I just see tailing permit and bonefish, and tarpon cruising the shallows - waiting to intercept a fly cast to them.  You have plenty of time to make plans and get on my schedule for the 2010 season in Key West.

IT SHOWS A FEW OF THE FISH CAUGHT

Fly rodders mistakenly think a trip out of the country is the only way to go.  NOT SO!  The finest fishing in the world for permit is out of the Key West area.  Look at the IGFA World Record Book which shows the majority of the permit records have been set there.  Every one of my regular customers who have fished with me there have caught permit on fly.  That's the ultimate - permit on fly!

I've put together a package deal which includes guided fishing, lodging and meals.  An opportunity for you to bring  your fishing buddies for classic "Keys" fly fishing.  If your buddy doesn't fly fish I haven't forgotten how to guide spin fishermen.  It's great fun to cast shrimp, crabs or artificials to permit, bonefish and tarpon.  I meet you at the airport so you don't even have to rent a car!  Makes for a very convenient way to fish the Key West area.  What most of my fly fishermen like about it is they don't have to travel thousands of miles out of the country to experience the thrill of casting to permit, bonefish and tarpon for their trip of a lifetime!  Oh yeah, another thing they really like is my wife's (Joyce) cooking.

Get in touch with me if you want the opportunity to expand your fishing experience to include the Key West area for permit, bonefish and tarpon.  Let's get you scheduled for the summer of 2010.

Welcome to Sanibel and Captiva Islands, a unique place where crystal clear waters provide excellent opportunities for fly fishermen to sight cast to saltwater gamefish.  A place where fly fishermen can see the Tarpon eagerly open their gigantic mouths to eat a 3-1/2" fly.  A place where "tailing" Redfish cross shallow flats just begging for flies to be presented on their dinner plate (strike zone).  A place where Snook in the mangrove roots wait in ambush for well-cast flies.  A place where fly fishermen write in their fishing journals about unsurpassed memories of catching 100-plus pound Tarpon, 30"-34" Redfish and/or hefty Snook on fly.

Fly fishing in the salt for big gamesters is the ultimate.  If you're a freshwater fly fisherman or fly fishing woman, don't be intimidated.  I can teach you everything you need to know to catch saltwater fish on fly.

Whether you're a new or experienced saltwater fly fisherman, I can help you hone your fly casting and fish catching skills.
